Enjoy Mountain Biking Around Houston

Mountain biking is a great way to explore the Houston area while enjoying a workout. When you’re ready for an afternoon of pedaling fun, you’ll find local trails ranging from easy to challenging. Those near our Houston apartments include:

Pine Gully Park Trail

For some beautiful scenery, don’t miss riding at Pine Gully Park. Stretching nearly 53 acres, it offers spectacular views of Galveston Bay from the fishing pier. Cyclists come to enjoy the six-mile Pine Gully Trail Loop. This crushed granite path welcomes all skill levels. It’s the perfect place to take in the spring wildflowers. You may also spot butterflies, white-tailed deer, and even a turtle or two.

Cypress Creek Trail

With a fast, flowy track, the Cypress Creek Trail offers a thrilling ride. Hills complete with logs and pavers challenge even the most seasoned riders. Part of the trail winds through the 100-acre Wood Preserve. It’s home to several unique areas, including remnants of mature post oaks and a forested wetland. The path stretches about 9.4 miles.

Memorial Park Trails

As Houston’s largest urban park, Memorial offers a range of outdoor activities. It began welcoming visitors 90 years ago. Today, the park retains much of its original charm, while meeting the city’s growing recreational needs. Mountain bikers are drawn to the trails found in the Bayou Wilds. Located in the park’s southwest section, the color-coded paths are surrounded by towering trees. Cyclists of all skill levels can enjoy an afternoon exploring nature.

The Anthills Trails

Offering a twisty singletrack ride, The Anthills Trails feature plenty of ups and downs. The middle paths challenge riders with steep but short climbs. Beginners will find that the trails along the riverbank offer an easier ride.
